Q: What are the system requirements for the Client edition?

A: Here's what you will need:

If you are installing TRAIN TRACK on your network, you will need a server for the back-end database. If you are also installing the Web interface, you can install it on the same server. 

Server

• • Hard Disk:  SQL Server requires a minimum of 6 GB of available hard-disk space, plus 8 to 500 MB for data storage depending on amount of data.
    Monitor:  SQL Server requires Super-VGA (800x600) or higher resolution monitor.
    Memory:  At least 4 GB and should be increased as database size increases to ensure optimal performance.
    Processor Speed:  2.0 GHz or faster
    Processor Type:  x64
    OS:  Windows 10 TH1 1507 or greater, or Windows Server 2016 or greater

    • You will need to install an instance of Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 or better (you may use your existing version, or SQL Server® Express which is free from Microsoft®). The database can be installed on the same server as other applications.
    • If you are also installing the Web interface, you will need a web server configured to support .asp pages (for example, IIS which is included with most versions of Windows®).

  • Microsoft® Access® 2010 or greater. You may use your existing version of Access® or the run-time version included with the installation files.
