TRAIN TRACK™ comes with some built-in security measures; however, your database should also be stored on a secure network, and only those with permission to use the application should have access to it through your network.
User Levels
The program includes four levels of user access: standard user, administrator, restricted user, and employee.
The standard user has the ability to edit all records. The administrator can edit all records, and can also edit users and user levels. The restricted user may only view reports for the employees under their direct supervision. The employee may only log on to take exams and view their own training status (employees do not need a license to log on).

Edit Users
To edit user names and levels, if you are logged in as an administrative user, from the Main Menu, select Edit Users. The Security Administration screen will open.

To add a new user, on a new (blank) line, select the employee name, type the User Login Name, and select a user level by checking one of the boxes. Users are authenticateed using their Windows login information, so there is no need for a separate password. When the user is logged in to Windows under the user login name listed, they will have access to the program.
To delete a user, right-click on the square to the left of the record and select Cut.
To edit users, just type over the existing data.
Limited Users
In order to allow supervisors to log in to view employee data, you need to associate their user login name with their name from your database, and select them as the supervisor for their employees.
1. Select the employee name from the drop-down menu
2. Next to their name, type in their Windows user login name
3. Check the Limited User box.
Be sure to go to the Employee Detail screen and select the correct user as the supervisor. Only employees who have this user selected as their supervisor will be included on the reports.
To edit users without being a registered user, you may use the lockout recovery function. From the start screen, select Edit Users. On the next screen, enter your original registration code, and you will be able to edit users.
