INSTALLATION

The installer does not modify your system or your Windows® registry; it just copies the files you need to the location you select.

Installing Access

If you already have Microsoft® Access™ installed on your computer, you can skip this step. If you do not have Access™ you will need to install the free run-time version.

1. Click on the link http://www.libertylabs.com/ARTsetup.exe to start the installation program.
2. A box will open asking if you want to Open or Save the file. Select Open.
3. Follow the instructions on your screen.

Using the installer

1. Click on the link http://www.libertylabs.com/TRAINTRACKsetup.exe to start the installation program.
2. A box will open asking if you want to Open or Save the file. Select Open.
3. Follow the instructions on your screen.

4. To start the program, go to Start > Programs > TRAIN TRACK 2000 v6 > TRAIN TRACK 2000.

If you plan to share the database with multiple users, you will need to install it to a network drive that all of the users have access to. All users need to have FULL rights for the directory where the program is installed. You will also need to make sure the file is backed up regularly.

Upgrade

If you are upgrading from a previous version, be sure to install the program into A NEW DIRECTORY. If you try to install it to the same directory as your current version, it will NOT be installed to avoid OVER-WRITING YOUR DATA. Once you install it into a new directory, you will be able to import the data from your current version during setup.

Installing the database only

If you do not wish to use the installer, you may simply save the database and supporting files to the location you specify.

1. Download the .zip file and save it to your hard drive where you will be able to find it.
2. Locate the file through "My Computer" and double-click on it.
3. Your un-zip program should automatically start and open a box showing these files:

README.txt
TRAINTRACK2000.mde

icon.ico
TRAINTRACKHelp.pdf

At the top of this box, select "File" > "Extract" or "Actions" > "Extract" (Menu options vary depending on your un-zip program).

4. Once the file "TRAINTRACK2000.mde" is extracted, you should be able to simply double-click on it to open it.If you have problems, right-click on the file and select "Properties". In the properties box, make sure "Read-only" is UN-checked. All users will need to have full access rights to the folder where you install the file. If you still have problems, please contact Liberty Labs or call 619-284-8013.

Moving the program to a new location

If you need to move the program to a different computer or a different location on the network, you may simply move the TRAIN TRACK folder from where it is to the new location. You will have to update any shortcuts or links to the program.
