Technical Information
TRAIN TRACK® standalone and client applications include an installer that will load the program on your computer and create a shortcut on your start menu. After the program has been installed, you may move it to another location by moving the entire folder the program is in to a new location. Any shortcuts will need to be re-created.
The application authenticates administrative users through their Windows® login. This ensures that any policies that you have set up for passwords and user access are automatically reflected in the program. Employee users who are logging on to view their own status or take an exam are not authenticated this way; they need to type in a password. This allows for multiple employees to use the same workstation under a generic Windows® login.
The software does not communicate with anything outside your network. It does not send any data out, and it does not automatically download anything from the internet. Product updates are installed manually. We do not track any browsing or usage data from our customers.
TRAIN TRACK® Client/Server edition uses a SQL Server® database as the back-end to store all of your data on a central server. The client application, with the user interface, can be installed on multiple workstations. The client application is connected to the database using an ODBC connection.
The web component requires a web server that supports .asp pages (for example, IIS which is included in most versions of Windows®). Users will need a web browser, and access to the web server over your network.
This application requires setup and installation by an IT professional. It is the responsibility of the customer to configure the network correctly and install the prerequisite software for the application to run properly. Liberty Labs is not responsible for installing or configuring the application unless installation services are purchased. Improper installation may void the waranty. Installation instructions are available for review prior to making a purchase, and Liberty Labs may be contacted for questions regarding installation.
